We are excited to launch a new “Lecture Series” format on November 16th, 2022.
The lecture series was originally birthed at the Union Street Public House in Old Town and was previously held at the Brass Cannon Brewery, which, unfortunately, is now closed.
The lectures are designed to spread knowledge and information on topics of interest generally related to history, world events, science, and aviation.
Past speakers included Gary Powers, Jr. on the shootdown of his father in a U-2 over the Soviet Union in the 1960s, John Quarstein of Mariners Museum talking about USS Monitor, Nancy Sheppard, formerly of WYDAILY on the airship Roma disaster in Hampton Roads, and others, all equally fascinating.
The inaugural presentation at Copper Fox will feature Heater Heatley,
Navy fighter pilot and inspiration for the movie Top Gun. Heater played key roles in the movie's production, one of which was flying the Tomcat as the rattled pilot, Cougar, at the movie's commencement.
Heater will provide an introduction, show clips from the movie describing what was happening on set while filming, and answer questions.
The lectures will continue monthly beginning in January 2023 at Copper Fox Distillery, 901 Capitol Landing Road, Williamsburg.
Lectures are free and open to the general public.
Seating is first come-first served, and reservations are not required.
