Our Lecture Series continues on Wednesday, February 15th, with Dr. John Broadwater's presentation on the USS Monitor. This is the second in a 3 part series on the famous Ironclad, whose 1862 engagement with Ironclad CSS Virginia (AKA Merrimac) off Newport News changed the nature of naval warfare worldwide. 

Dr. Broadwater, of Williamsburg, led the joint U.S.Navy/National Oceanographic

and Atmospheric Administration operation to recover the turret, engine and many other artifacts.
